Leatherworking... 296!

The only reason I'm not leveling my toon in Outlands right now is because I want to be able to stay current with my leatherworking. My skinning is already 375, but leatherworking is stuck at 296. I have all the stuff to get me started at 300, but this is killing me. So close, yet so far away...

Beast Master

I think the most exciting thing I have done so far is become a Beast Master! I like the exotic pet training thing. There are so many cool looking pets that i want. Five slots is kind of a tease. The extra pet training points is pretty clutch too!

Now, before anyone makes the mistake, don't fear. Jack is still "numero uno" in my stable! I love my monkey.

But the family has been expanding. I have got two new pets added in the stables. Also, I decided to retire Pappabear, my first pet, as of today. He was a beautiful white bear that I had from the start. But there are just too many new guys for me that need loving! ;-)

First, we have Fluffy! So beautiful! I know core hounds are mostly nasty looking, but this one is rocks hard and keeps the white & blue look all my babies have.

Next is Nina. I always thought that the Chimaeras were a cool looking animal. I am also a big Full Metal Alchemist fan, so I made sure to grab one of these pets. If you aren't familiar, Full Metal Alchemist is a Anime show from Japan that aired in the US on Adult Swim. In it, there was a scientist that created Chimaeras. You find out later on that the one living one he created was a mix of his dog and his little girl, Nina. Very sad episode. This is my memorial to Nina.

Of course, the stable still consist of Casper and Jack.

LvL 62!!!

Craziness! I finally got to Outland. And the best part is I'm zipping through it. I'm not a big fan of Outland in general. It kind of pulls away from the WarCraft theme a bit. I heard that Wrath brings it back to a more gothic look, which is what I like. I love Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, but that doesn't mean I think they should make a movie to combine the two.

WoW Radio

WC Radio VS. WoW Insider

I love listening to Podcast. I used to listen to talk radio in the car, but there were always way too many commercials and most of the time it would go off task or the host wouldn't talk about anything good in general.

Then I discovered Podcast. Talk radio shows that are specific. Where on the normal airwaves could you find a show that was based all on video games? Exactly. No where. That is why Podcast are amazing. You can find them on any subject. One of my favorites that I have been listening to from the start is was the WoW Insider Show on WC Radio. This show was awesome. All about WoW, always up to date, and some key people that always made it fun to listen to.

Unfortunately, that is all about to change.

Turns out that the WoW Insider has grown "too big" for WC Radio and decided to do their show all in house. This is sad news. If anyone reading knows the show, this means that there will be some of those great key elements missing. The most obvious to me would be the loss of Turpster and Duncore, two faithful employees of WC Radio who helped always make the show great.

Don't get me wrong, WoW Insider has some great stuff, too. One of my favorite bloggers, BRK, who I always mention on here, is on the show frequently. There are also some other very talented people that come on the show, such as the "Big Bear Butt Blogger" and WoW Insider's own Matthew Rossi, Christian Belt, and Elizabeth Harper to name a few.

WC Radio, under the leadership of Total Biscuit, is starting a new show called PUG. This show will also be staring everyone's favorite Turpster and Duncore, as well as additional guest. TB is promising this show will special like no other because it will be more interactive with its guest. Very awesome on their part.

Through all this mess, it is sad to see this overall part of the community breaking up. I'm sure PUG will do awesome, even though they are going on at the same broadcast time as the new WoW Insider show, because they have a great team put together. I actually think it may be a little bit harder to listen to the new WoW Insider show unless they can put together a solid team. There were quite a few great bloggers mentioned that appear on the show, but they are all on and off. With BRK having his own super successful podcast and Big Bear Butt with a very intelligent blog, these superstars will not always be there to help out. And without Turpster around to put a smile on everyone's faces, it could get annoying listening to some of the smug and rude cutoffs of the WoW Insider's co-lead.

But what ever happens, "Alt-aholics Unite!" wish the best for both sides...

(Though we are pulling a little extra for the WC Radio team. Can't wiat to hear the first episode of PUG, 3:30 est time at wcradio.com!)

Lvl 40 with new armor! I must say, this is kind of scary to me. I've hit 40 before, but this is the first toon I ever had that I didn't feel the need to make a new alt. Could this be the one? Could Hunter be my one true class?

Oh yeah, I must give mad props to BRK and his great movies. They showed me how to not be a "huntard" and to play with style. Foshizzle!

Is anyone else think that it is crazy we pay monthly for this and there are all these issues going on. Yikes! I know, I'm QQing, but it is really starting to bother me. The game is so buggy right now, I feel its near unplayable.

Hey, check this! This is my loading game screen after I got booted. I love the new look they gave it in the new patch. I've studied it in detail for about 20 mins now while waiting for the server to let me in.

Welcome to the Mckahlder Show! Here is an update on everyone's favorite Hunter.

Current Level: 37, Beastmaster Spec

Current Pet: Jack (Gorilla) "We named the monkey Jack!"

Guild: Justice League: Bunch of awesome people. Everyone is very friendly. Awesome crew.

Newest Distractions: "Bejeweled" add-on and achievements. I used to take some awesome pics when flying from city to city, but now its all about Bejeweled.

Now I know I can't be the only one addicted to some achievements, but it may cause me fast leveling. This morning, I could have done about 6 missions for XP, but because I am addicted, I decided to solo Stockades because I didn't have it. I try to stay away from Dungeons because of leveling purposes. I have fun doing them, but it just doesn't give the XP I'm looking for to level. Achievements have made me solo 2 underleveled dungeons in the last 2 days. Crazy...

Anyway, if anyone is chillin out on the Dalaran realm, drop me a line. I'll be there, leveling, as long as the server is up :-(

I always heard rumors of an alligator that swims through the canals of Stormwind. In the 3+ years I have been playing WoW, I have never witnessed such a creature... til now!

I came to Stormwind for some training with Mckalhder (currently level 37) and just happened to have my beast tracker on. I noticed the red blip and thought "W

hat the hell is that?!" Sure enough, it was him.

Being that I'm from the Tri-State area, I always found it funny that Blizz had thrown in this urban legend of NYC. They have always been great with Pop Culture references, but this one always stood out. Awesome job!

OK, it says my server is up, but it really isn't. I love the new patch. But ever since it dropped, server stability had been just booty. The "Dalaran" realm has knocked me off so much its not funny. I know. "QQ some more Parise!" But I don't care, its pissing me off!

I had given my two weeks in this past Monday because my jon had very poor working conditions that I just couldn't take anymore. They decided to act like the swell bunch they are and told me to get out. Works for me, they just handed me umemployment. But I'm not one of those bums that solely depend on it for income. I plan on getting a new job asap.

But in the mean time...

I have been wanting to level a character for the expansion so this may be the best chance I have. Starting Monday, I will be going on a hopeful leveling spree. Wish me luck!

Tonight starts the weekend. Jill and myself will be working on the twin huntresses. Be on the look out on the Dalaran realm US.

Sharing Thoughts... Professions

Sharing Thoughts... is a new section I have started to discuss the shared topic of the week from Blog Azeroth, a community for WoW bloggers.

What do you wish your profession could do? Engineering makes awesome things, but most of them are only for engineers. I do like the fact that they will be able to sell the new bikes when Wrath comes out. That ability should help out some because Engineering is quite a money sink.

The thing I would love to see most would be an ability to make bows in game. I like the fact that engineers can make guns, but no one can make bows. Why is that? What secret society do you need to grind rep with to learn how to bend a stick and add a string?!

One thing I always liked is the ability to craft my own things that I use in game, or for that matter, things other people have crafted. It feels like Hunters, in a sense, have a small handicap because of this. Think about it. Every other class can pretty much make their main weapons and armor from a profession. But bows seem to be forgotten about. I want to make bows!

Anyone agree?

The Weekly Report

Time for the weekly update.

So it is official. My alt-aholicism has struck again. My new main seems to be my lvl 25 hunter, Mckahlder. I really did try to start leveling with Parise, my lvl 45 rogue, but as soon realized that I don't remember how to play him.

So me and my Dwarf Hunter set off on a new pet quest. I decided that even though my Papabear is a good tank, I wanted to try something with a little more bite. Searching through Petopia, I finally found the perfect pet. It is a lvl 20 cat in Darkshore called a Ghost Saber. Beautiful thing. I have a thing for white animals. Not only is this thing white, it is also transparent. Sick!

So I jump on the boat from the wetlands, put Papabear in the stable, and run north from the little town of Auberdine. Once I get to the area that wowhead.com told me to go to, I start looking around for one of these beautiful cats. As I am searching, I notice the Naga are frequent in this area, but I can't seem to find a Ghost Saber on my beast tracker anywhere.

After having to kite about 20 Naga, I decided to pick up a garbage pet, one of those ostridge looking things in the area. Still no cat, though. I finally decide to read a little more and low and behold, I find that it is a summoned creature from these little cat figurines scattered in the area.

Ok, I have a great idea. I'll throw treasure tracking on. *EPIC VICTORY* It works!!! Gotta love racial abilities. So I started to find the cat figurines and try to open them. Find one, no cat. Find two, no cat. Find three, not cat! Finally, on my 20th cat figurine, the ghost saber forms. I abandon the bird, who I was just started to grow attached to, and started to train. *EPIC VICTORY* But thank Uther I had a health potion with me, or it would have been epic FAIL! Nice little distraction from leveling. In fact, I gained a level in the process of killing all the naga.

Now it is my Horde Troll Hunter, Rhakeena. Yes, another hunter. Why do I have two? Because Rhakeena is a special one that I only play when I am playing with the Mrs., thats why. Crazy story, we made them at the same time and when we logged in the playing zone, they were identical. Well, everything but the hair color. Kind of scary how much we think alike. We leveled them for a bit and got them up to level 15. Me and the Mrs. do an awesome job together, especially wiping out the trash in the front of the Wailing Caverns.

So that is my WoW updates for the week...

Oh yeah, and I also managed to get a presale reserve on the Wrath Collector's Edition. SWEEEET!

PvE to PvP servers?

Is this the way to the PvP server? What?! There is a $25 toll charge to cross over into a realm that has less restrictions on who gets ganked or not?!

Hmmmm...

Something tells me that these horrific hordes of transfers that all the super PvP-ers are QQing about aren't going to be as bad as they think. And even if everyone is not as cheap as I am, it could be better for balance. I mean, I love PvP servers, but I started on the Dalaran realm. Would I like to engage in some PvP? Sure I would! Am I going to pay $25 for it to happen. Most likely, no.

I just recently realized how much fun PvP could be during this past Mid Summers Fire Fest. It was the first time I saw real World PvP. I mean, it seemed like where ever you went, there was PvP near the fires. It was amazing. Are the PvP realms like that? I don't think so. Not as much anyway. But really, who wants to level a new toon and get ganked. I know its part of the game, but it really isn't fun.

I, for one and maybe the only one, welcome this change.

Yeah, I know I said I was going to try to keep updated as much as possible, but once again, things have been a bit hectic.

Anyways...

So I finally got Parise (Rogue lvl 45) out of Cow Town and sent him off to honor good ol' Grom's memorial for the Harvest Fest. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but is it true the Alliance version of the quest is for a min. lvl 59, where the Horde version is only lvl 30? A bit odd for a in-game Holiday quest. At least the food is nice.

After running the quick honor mission, I look at Parise and I really think the reason I have been lacking on playing him is because of the big blue chicken he's riding. Here I am, all stealthy and bad, killing people when they least expect it, riding into the sunset like a cowboy...

...on a big, blue, feather infested chicken!

I need a cooler mount. To go with the play style of Parise's (he's all about the Assassination Tree), I want a skeleton horse. They are so bad-ass looking. So, I sent Parise over to Brill to start doing mission for the grind to exalted status. I think it may take some time, but in the end, I will be satisfied.

That's the Parise update for the year. LOL j/k... well, I hope.

WOW, he's alive?!

I'm back after a short leave of absence. Real life has been pretty hectic lately between school, work, and play. But from this point on, I'm trying to make a better and bigger effort for this blog. I've been doing my reading and getting some good ideas.

A lot of the big bloggers are partaking in the beta right now and it has me wanting WotLK so bad. But, if I don't get my butt into gear, I will never get to see it's glorious content.

My hunter alt, Mckahlder, has been my main focus as of recent. I try to log under Parise, the lvl 45 rogue who I was leveling with so well, but, I just can't seem to do it. I love the Rogue class. Sneaking around and "layin on the pain" is dark and awesome. But it seems all to slow at this point in Parise's cycle. It is so much fun leveling with the hunter. I have taken on things 5 levels higher than my toon. That's nuts! (Thanks Big Red Kitty for all your starter Hunter videos!)

Does anyone out there have this problem? I have had the game from launch and lvl 45 is my max. I feel as if I am the only person to never get to see Outland. It isn't that I'm a bad player or that I die a lot or don't make enough gold. I just can not stick with a single toon. :-(

I hate Twinks!

Mckahlder here, lvl 19 Dwarf Hunter. It's just me and Papabear. We have no guild yet, nor do me and Big White need one. But I do have a certain need that needs to be calmed before moving on too far and that is getting a Tabard.

Tabards are one of the few things that make all combatants look like a real warrior. That and a big weapon. I try to never use my ax. I only use it if Papabear gets stunned and someone gets in close range for me to slow em down a bit. As of recently, the Olympics have been catching my out-of wow interest. USA wins lots of metals, as always! Anyways, when I saw the Competitor's Tabard, I knew I had to have it. Currently both obsessions, WoW tabards and the Olympics, in one shot. Knowing there won't be another Olympic games until 2010, I had to act quick. Unfortunately, the only BG I could fight in was Warsong Gultch, my least favorite BG. This is what i get for making 20 million alts. I get in the BG and it turns into a bad Kung Fu movie with a title like:

Enter The Twinks

There were so many Twinks on Horde side! It was like a constant waive of them pouring down on us. We didn't get one flag, and for this BG, that pretty bad when the only thing that everyone does (besides your truly cause I never understood why they do it) is turtle with the flag in their bases. I went through a half hour of this torture to get this damn Tabard. I had the highest Damage on the Alliance side, which isn't saying much. I was third overall damage, but was forth with most times killed. Horrible.

But it was worth it, right? I got my new Tabard to show off to all. Yeah, it's cool. Yeah, it's awesome. I ran straight to the mailbox and put it on. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Can't wait for those Barber Shops in Wrath...

My name is Parise, Arogos, Mckahlder, Samoflange, and Sepricus... I love to play World of Warcraft... And I am a Alt-aholic.

For those who are unsure, an alt-aholic is someone who can not stick to a single in-game character. There is a constant need to change classes at the blink of an eye or make a different version of your class to follow another race's story line.

I have been playing WoW since launch. Parise, my highest leveled toon so far, is only a level 45. The only "Burning Crusade" experience I have had is characters in the new races and their starting areas. With the new expansion on the way and a league of extraordinary alts at my hands, I run into the problem of "will I ever see myself through to a new world?"

I don't know if there are other people like me. I do play as often as possible. I have gotten the Mrs. to play along, too. I listen to quite a few podcast and check new blogs as soon as they come up. But, I constantly find myself mixed between classes. Lost in Desolace. Leveling in Hillsbrad. Getting ganked in Stranglethorn Vale.

So here I am today. New blog, new start. (Funny. This is the third blog I have started in the last month. Hmmm. Maybe I just have a problem with commitment.)
